Purchasing Assistant

Permanent, 35 Hours, Melmerby, North Yorkshire, Competitive Salary

This is a varied and multi-skilled role involving office administrative duties, financial responsibilities, supplier and order processing as well as being responsible for maintaining accurate stock records.

As a Purchasing Assistant you will be responsible for administering gift voucher and gift card orders to suppliers within agreed time limits as well as processing e-codes. It is essential that you have a good level of numeracy and a clear understanding of Excel spreadsheets.

MAIN DUTIES

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Dispatching vouchers throughout the company’s various departments.
  • Signing and checking in new stock.
  • Placing orders to suppliers for gift vouchers, gift cards and e-codes, to maintain stock levels according to management guidance.
  • Liaising with the department managers regarding stock levels.
  • Assisting with stock security.
  • Regular stock checks.
  • Card loading for various departments.
  • Monitoring stocks of cards & vouchers and other related retailer stocks.
  • Dealing with queries relating to card loading, vouchers and retailers.
  • General Office Administration.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

What competencies and skills are required?

The ideal candidate would have:

  • Confident communicator- both verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • GCSE’s to include Math and English at grade C or above, or equivalent.
  • Ability to understand and work with various IT systems.
  • Computer literate.
