Finance Administrator – Fixed Term 12 Months

Fixed Term, 25 – 30 Hours per Week (Flexible over 5 days), Ripon/Melmerby, North Yorkshire, Competitive Salary

The Finance Administrator role is a varied and multi skilled, target driven role, requiring great attention to detail and time management skills. Responsible for reconciling, tracking, posting and reporting sterling and foreign currency receipts from customers and payments made to suppliers.

The Finance Administrator is key to controlling the flow of cash through the company and this position makes extensive use of Microsoft Excel and the Sage200 accounting system.

MAIN DUTIES

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Processing daily banking and converting sales and pro-forma invoices into sales orders for despatch.
  • Posting daily credit card receipts into Sage200.
  • Posting chargebacks debited from the banking.
  • Updating Sage200 with monthly exchange rates on 1st of each month.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
  • Posting cash and credit card expenses to the ledger on a monthly basis.
  • Full control of petty cash, including monthly reconciliation of the balance.
  • Reconciliation of monthly overseas online sales, including raising internal sales invoices.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

What competencies and skills are required?

The ideal candidate would have:

  • 4 GCSE’s including Maths and English at or above grade C/4 or equivalent.
  • An interest in accountancy.
  • Previous experience using Sage200 is
  • Experience of working in a Finance environment.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and work to strict deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
  • The ability to keep calm in stressful situations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within organisations.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time.
  • A positive attitude.
