Confectionery Sales Account Executive

Permanent, 37.5 Hours, Ripon, North Yorkshire, Competitive Salary + OTE via incentive scheme

This is a high energy and target driven role requiring excellent customer service, communication and time management skills. You will be responsible for proactively generating new opportunities through targeted telemarketing activity, and also manage an ongoing account base with a view to growing sales within your designated account base. You must be commercially aware and show enthusiasm and commitment to deliver B2B growth and achieve company sales targets & objectives.

MAIN DUTIES

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

    • Deliver against sales targets to drive a significant uplift in new business opportunities.
    • Work with Sales & Marketing to run targeted campaigns into well-defined audience segments.
    • Providing weekly and monthly progress updates against new sales objectives.
    • Daily account management of a designated account base – maintaining client relationships & maximising sales opportunities through regular contact.
    • Pro-active outbound sales calls to existing and lapsed client base to generate leads and sales opportunities.
    • Entering and maintaining accurate information onto the CRM system (HubSpot).
    • Distribution of sales material following new business enquiries.
    • Ensure clients are properly informed of all products & services available to them whist creating upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
    • Reviewing and renewing client agreements to ensure they’re competitive and remain commercially viable for the business.
    • Occasionally attending client meetings/events (both internally and externally).
    • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all Hemingway’s products and services in order to appropriately describe or demonstrate to existing & prospective clients.
    • Keeping abreast of competitor products and services to ensure a broad knowledge of the industry when speaking to customers.

    Additional Duties (when required):

    • Account creation via Sage200 with absolute attention to detail in terms of quality control and accuracy of data input, ensuring all standard security checks are performed for new clients.
    • Sales order entry via Sage200 with absolute attention to detail in terms of quality control and accuracy of data input (including quotations, pro forma invoices & returns).
    • Query resolution; dealing with email or telephone queries, involving liaison with Operations, Finance or other departments within the wider business.
    • Provide inbound telephone support, taking orders & handling queries over the phone.
    • Contacting customers via telephone to process payments or advise regarding their recent order or query
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

What competencies and skills are required?

The ideal candidate would have:

  • GCSEs to include Math & English at grade C/4 or above or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills and a confident communicator (both written and verbal).
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in sales – preferably within an inside sales environment and/or account management role.
  • A proactive, results driven individual who is happy to work well independently, using your own initiative with support from the wider team when needed.
  • Comfortable working towards realistic monthly lead targets.
  • A natural relationship builder with proven experience in developing and nurturing opportunities through to meetings and proposal stage. We are focused on a lifetime customer value as well as the short-term sale, so longevity of relationships is vitally important.
  • You should be very comfortable using email and social media to support calling efforts.
  • A solutions person – you will be happy to give recommendations on how you think we can improve campaigns and results.
  • Understanding of the sales cycle and pipeline management.
  • Organised and efficient with strong time management skills.
  • Any previous experience in building contacts by navigating your way through tough accounts would also be advantageous.
